The Johnstown Flood, by David McCullough

In the 1800’s when Johnstown, Pennsylvania was at the height of coal and steel production, a lake dammed above town by wealthy industrialists burst, resulting in a flood killing more than 2000 people.  This historical tragedy is a timely reminder of our nation’s crumbling infrastructure and the imperative to manage our natural resources.
