A girl is given makeup

She feels like she did just wake up

It’s not always a good thing

Next thing you know she’s covered in bling

When she has a lust for beauty

It just would rust her soul truly

Making our brains make us change just to be somethin’ to someone else

Giving no caring answer just giving all these wells

When everyone says we're pathetic

Cuz we’re not quite as synthetic

Keeping everyone chasing a popular status

When your looks are more fake as is

When all you are is hated

And you would only get rated

Like I care

Solely about my hair

This peer pressure

It affects her

It changes her brain

And makes her insane

Losing the girl I used to know

Chasing beauty like from Van Gough

Lost all reality

She’s not who she used to be

She’s got game, got the fame

But at what cost

When you look at all she’s lost

She’s covered by a mask

When you’d get an answer now you can’t even ask

She used to be my anchor

But now I think she doesn’t know her

In her skin I used to see incandescence

All of the fluorescence in the essence is lost

Over her sunray smile I see is a coat of frost

Covering up imperfections I call perfect

When you reflect, you’ve lost all respect

All you see is a soul that was eject–ed across this galaxy

When I try to bring the girl I knew back, she claims, “It’s fallacy”

I lost her to the mirror

Now I feel I fear her

Blowing hopes and dreams away

Because your more worried how you look today

I wish she didn’t care how she looked

Cuz looks, my best friend you just took

She used to be sentimental now she’s numb

Waiting for their approval giving her a thumb

I feel like I am missing her

When all these memories turn to a blur

When all she does is cover up her face

All her outfits are layered in lace

The girl that I used to see

Is lost to the mystery

When you have to look pixelated

Because you can’t score low when rated

Please don’t feel insecure

I need you so I to stay secure

When you’ll never be known like William Henry Harrison

Because your stuck in a state of comparison

When they say just try makeup

Makes me feel your making me fake up

When off the list I have checked

Makes me feel like I’m wrecked

Cuz I don’t fit your definition

One more addition

Your beautiful without fake stuff
