The pond in your eyes reminds me of a time when I sunk below the stats.

I had felt the same crushing weight then as I do not when I look at you.

Water that tasted of moonstone filled my mouth and sunk into my lungs.

My waterlogged mind wondered if you could teach me to swim, teach me to float in the rain,

Or if I will sink into the abyss, never to let the sun soak my skin again.

The moon spoke, and the reeds whispered of your arrival, though it was just a mirage of the night.

Now I will never swim again, I stay forever in that pond,

Now all of my love floats with me, my throat filled with sand I call for you.

“Look for me among the gray swan.”

“My heart waits for you there.”
